Sweet Bonanza is an online pokie by Pragmatic Play with a candy and fruit theme and a 6 x 5 grid. It has no paylines: 8 or more matching symbols anywhere on the grid make a win. It is one of the best known online pokies and is widely available at online casinos, usually alongside a demo version. | At a glance | | | Provider | [Pragmatic Play](https://onlinepokiess.org/providers/pragmatic-play) | | Grid | 6 reels x 5 rows | | Wins | Scatter pays: 8 to 12+ matching symbols anywhere, paying up to 50x | | Feature | 4 to 6 scatters: 10 free spins, scatters pay up to 100x | | Multipliers | 2x to 100x, in free spins | | RTP (provider) | 96.48% | ## How does the base game work? The base game works on scatter pays and tumbles. After each spin, the game checks for 8 or more matching symbols anywhere on the grid. Winning symbols pay and disappear, the remaining symbols drop down and new ones fall from above. If the new layout forms another win, it pays and tumbles again, until no new win appears. That means a single paid spin can turn into a chain of wins. It also means many spins pay nothing, because 8 matching symbols on a 30-position grid is not a common result. ## How do the free spins and multipliers work? The free spins feature starts when 4 or more lollipop scatters land. You get 10 free spins, and the scatters that triggered them also pay. During free spins, multiplier symbols worth 2x to 100x can land. When a tumbling sequence ends, all multiplier values on the grid are added together and applied to the total win of that sequence. This is where Sweet Bonanza earns its reputation: two or three multipliers on a good tumble chain produce the game's largest wins. Many free spins rounds, though, end with modest results, because the multipliers often land on spins with small wins or none. ## What does the RTP mean for you? Pragmatic Play lists Sweet Bonanza's RTP at 96.48%, meaning that over a very long run the game returns about 96.5 cents of every dollar wagered and keeps the rest. Many providers offer casinos more than one RTP version, so check the game rules in your casino's version. Size your bets for a game whose returns are concentrated in its feature. Sweet Bonanza can go many spins without a meaningful win, then pay most of its value in one free spins round. A budget that covers only a few dozen spins often ends before the feature lands. Choose a stake that gives you enough spins for your session, and decide in advance whether you will use any bonus buy option the casino offers, since it costs a large multiple of your stake. ## Which pokies are similar to Sweet Bonanza?
